Drumming for Beginners
Keeley Beats: Drumming for Beginners is a course designed to teach the basics of drumming on a drumset. This is a different approach from some teachers who spend weeks teaching basic drum rudiments on practice pads and then graduating their students to a full drumset.
This course is designed to start the fun from day one; on a full drumset to hopefully keep students interested and wanting to play more. The course is divided into 15 half hour sessions where students will learn the parts of a drumset, how to hold drum sticks, learn quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes, and basic drum rudiments. Practicing on a full drumset will be encouraged throughout the entire course.
Students will be encouraged to practice as much as they can, and more time can be spent on certain lessons than others (or even repeated). The full course layout and rudiment lessons will be discussed in advance, and we have information about a 5-piece, all-inclusive drumset that can be purchased (although not required). Prices and venues for various services will be discussed in advance.
The really cool part is that for every referral given, a lesson will be free! So, let's get you and all your friends jamming away on the "skins"!
